Barbie has made her debut at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival with the brand’s first-ever activation, “You Can Be Any Barbie.” The immersive experience, running during both weekends of the festival, invites fans to embrace their creativity and individuality while stepping into a world inspired by Barbie’s many personas.

The activation, located near the festival’s main entrance, features interactive elements designed to celebrate self-expression. Attendees can explore the Barbie Entrance Gallery Wall, showcasing Barbie dolls, personas and charms; create custom Barbie-inspired charms at the Barbie Charm Bar; and capture their Barbie moment in a portrait studio with professional lighting and a Barbie x Coachella backdrop.
“Barbie has always stood for limitless potential, but she’s also a mindset, a vibe and a platform for self-expression," says Nathan Baynard, vice president and head, Barbie, Mattel. "With a legacy of inspiring generations, Barbie has never been defined by a single role or style, and neither are her fans. Coachella is one of the most powerful cultural stages for individuality and creativity, making it the perfect place to bring Barbie to life in a bold, immersive way. As we continue to evolve with our audience, we’re excited to invite a new generation to step into their own Barbie persona and celebrate who they are – because you can be any Barbie, entirely on your own terms.”

Barbie teamed up with fashion tastemaker, activist and rising television personality Olandria Carthen during Weekend 1. Known for her bold style and creative energy, Carthen will help fans channel their inner Barbie personas.
“As someone who’s always evolving my style and pushing creative boundaries, Barbie has been a constant source of inspiration since she is so fearless when it comes to style and dressing boldly," says Carthen. "My friends and family have always said I embody Barbie’s spirit, and it’s stuck with me ever since. Now, partnering with Barbie at Coachella is such a full-circle moment. I’m excited to celebrate individuality, creativity and invite everyone to show up as their most expressive, authentic selves, unleashing their inner Barbie.”
Barbie and Coachella launched a collection of official merchandise, available at the festival’s main merchandise tent. The collection celebrates Barbie’s “You Can Be Anything” mantra and encourages fans to embrace their limitless potential.
